In Search of Home: A Trilogy consists of Two Bedrooms, One Bath (2007), 2 Hours 45 Minutes (2009), and Apartment B (2011), each using photography, sound, and installation to explore ideas of “home” and the significance of place in both personal and collective ways. All three installations create an individual experience for the viewer yet allow multiple viewers to interact with the work at once. Their physical presence becomes part of the installation, causing it to also function as a performance. Viewers stand in close proximity but do not directly interact with one another, as the headphones “chain” each viewer to their individual experience of the work. The images and fragmented audio move between the general and the specific, transporting viewers into an alternate world while allowing them space to form their own associations.
